課程簡介Course Description

The Vietnamese Thematic Composition course is designed for students who have intermediate-level Vietnamese writing skills. The course provides students with fundamental knowledge and skills in interactive and academic writing, with a particular focus on Vietnamese text structure. It also offers guidance on writing professional Vietnamese documents through hands-on practice with commonly used forms such as: Báo cáo, Giấy cam đoan, Đơn xin nghỉ phép, Hợp đồng mua bán hàng hóa, Bản ghi nhớ hợp tác, Đơn trình báo,..

This course helps students develop advanced Vietnamese writing skills and apply what they have learned to various tasks such as letter writing, email composition, opinion essays (topic-based writing), and drafting common Vietnamese administrative documents relevant to both professional and everyday contexts.

    課程目標與學習成效Course Objectives & Learning Outcomes

     This course equips students with fundamental knowledge of Vietnamese texts and common administrative document formats. It also provides essential knowledge related to work, commerce, law, and relevant issues.

     Students will acquire key sentence structures and core vocabulary commonly used in administrative texts. Based on this foundation, they will be able to apply grammatical structures and learned vocabulary to the composition of frequently used administrative documents.

     Through practice in drafting various types of documents, students will develop advanced Vietnamese writing skills. By the end of the course, they will be able to write a wide range of practical documents fluently in Vietnamese. In particular, students will be capable of performing well in both interactive and academic writing tasks required by the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Test for foreigners issued by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. The students' Vietnamese proficiency level upon course completion is equivalent to levels B2 to C2 (levels 4 to 6) according to the 6-level Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for foreigners.

     VIẾT EMAIL

    1.  Students read and study the lesson in advance at home.

    2. The lecturer explains and helps students understand the importance and practicality of emails in work and daily life; and grasp the structure of an email as well as how to write a proper email in Vietnamese.

    3. Based on the sample and under the lecturer’s guidance, students practice writing emails.

    1. Students read the textbook in advance at home and look up difficult words in the dictionary.

    2. The lecturer explains to students the role of punctuation marks, the types of punctuation in Vietnamese, and how to use them correctly and effectively.

    3. Students practice using punctuation through two types of exercises: inserting punctuation marks into a given passage and writing a paragraph using correct punctuation.

    1.  Students read and study the lesson in advance at home.

    2. The lecturer helps students understand the importance of paragraphs in a text, the structure of a paragraph, different methods of paragraph development (deductive, inductive), and how to logically connect paragraphs within a text.

    3. Students practice writing paragraphs using different methods of content development.

    2. The lecturer guides students on the structure of an academic text, the use of language, and how to connect paragraphs within the text.

    3. The lecturer guides students in analyzing a specific text to better understand its structure and writing style.

    Attendance score: 15%. Record attendance on a daily basis. You will not be permitted to take the final exam if you miss 4 days of class (unless you have a valid cause, such as  illness or accident).

    Spirit and attitude of participating in class: 20%

    Midterm exam: 30%

    Final exam: 35%.
