This course provides students of Arabic language in the advanced beginner’s level with listening and conversational exercises based on the textbook, al-Takallum. The class will be conducted in an interactive and immersive environment in order to facilitate students’ acquisition of Arabic as the second language. Participation in class activities and pre- and post-class exercises are mandatory for the students enrolled in this course.

By the end of the course, students should ideally have achieved the following learning objectives:
First, students will memorise the vocabulary taught in Arabic II and Applied Arabic II by repetitive exercise and learn how to use it in meaningful and soundly structured sentences.
Second, students will practise their conversational skills by incorporating the syntactical rules and vocabulary.
Third, students will improve their listening skills by fortnightly quizzes and weekly assignments based on the vocabulary and phrases taught in Arabic II and Applied Arabic II.
