This course consists of three parts:
[Empirical Methods] In the first part, the course provides a brief overview of the primary empirical methods used in corporate finance research, with a focus on addressing endogeneity issues.
[Corporate Policy Decisions] The second part introduces several academic papers exploring various corporate policy decisions.
[Research Proposal] In the final part, each student group will develop and present a research proposal based on the theories or knowledge learned from this course.
Coursework:
1. Student Group
Each student group consists of 5–6 students.
2. In-Class Presentation
Each student group is required to present one academic paper in class. Each group has 50 minutes for the presentation, allocated as 40 minutes for the presentation itself and 10 minutes for Q&A.
3. Research Proposal
Each group will develop and present a research proposal based on the theories or knowledge learned from this course.
