本課程為民族學系碩士班必修課程,旨在提供修課學生對於民族學理論的認識,以具備從民族學理論視角理解人群現象、思辨民族相關事務的能力,掌握當前民族學的研究重點與特色。
本課程內容主要包含三個層次:
1.「對於人群文化的理解」;
2.「從我群認同到族群互動的探討」;
3.「民族和國家的關係的思考」。
其中,隨著課程的進展,將逐步從文化的功能、結構,親屬、社會組織等理論,帶入民族間互動與交互影響的思考,進而探討國家政治對於民族、民族關係之作用。
本課程之理論與經驗案例,結合國內外的重要論著,以幫助學生掌握當前民族學的研究重點與特色,進而成為發展碩士論文研究的思想基礎。
