課程簡介Course Description

本課程聚焦於比較政治中的核心主題之一:民主。我們將探討有關民主化與民主穩定的條件之學術辯論,涵蓋的面向包括:(1) 經濟結構、(2) 政治制度、(3) 文化價值觀,以及 (4) 公民支持。此外,本課程最後亦將關注民主倒退的現象,分析民主制度為何有時無法穩固建立。課程採跨國比較視角,強調宏觀的發展趨勢,而非聚焦於單一國家的經驗,但仍會選用具代表性的案例來說明關鍵理論與爭點。指定閱讀以學術期刊論文為主,內容著重於比較性與實證性的研究成果。

    課程目標在於培養學生對民主理論與實踐的系統性理解,並透過跨國比較視角,掌握影響民主發展與穩定的關鍵因素。完成本課程後,學生將能夠 1) 解釋民主化與民主鞏固的主要理論與爭議;2) 分析不同國家的民主經驗與制度差異;3) 評估影響民主倒退的結構性與制度性因素;4) 閱讀並批判性思考具實證基礎的比較政治學研究。
