本課程主要希望讓研究生認識數位檔案在當代研究與實務上的重要性，並培養學生在實際研究中進行數位檔案加值工作的能力。課程設計著重實務操作與觀念並重，帶領學生學習數位檔案加值的各個階段，包括資料的徵集、整理、保存與分析，進一步理解這些工作如何在資訊服務中發揮價值、產生加值效益。課程也會介紹目前常見的數位工具與方法，例如文字探勘、社會網絡分析、地理資訊系統與生成式人工智慧等，並透過實作演練與案例探討，使學生能掌握資訊科技在檔案研究與人文應用中的整合方式。最終，期使學生具備運用數位工具從事知識建構與策展實踐之能力，實現人文研究與數位加值之融合目標。
