This course has been specifically designed to address the needs and interests of students of international visions, in particular, those engaged in the study of education and social science departments. The course begins by examining the philosophical and political bases of globalization and the need of promoting citizenship. The course introduces the main theme of discourse on citizenship from United Nations, main regional organizations, and countries worldwide.

Upon completion of the course, the participant students shall:
1. Develop analytical skills to question and appraise citizenship and practices at the international and national levels;
2. Gain substantive knowledge of the international trend of citizenship and of the challenge and contribution of critics;
3. Perceive improvements, discern ambiguities, and identify contradictions in citizenship education;
4. Draw useful conclusions about the roles of various countries of their promotion
and enforcement.

1. The group discussion: Requires you to work in a small group at preparing each assigned topic.
2. Reflective notes and oral presentation: Asks you to write a short note based on
your experience and reflective opinions.
