This course is designed to equip students’ academic writing skills through the fundamentals of essay writing, emphasizing genre knowledge and reader expectations. The course is conducted with lectures and discussion sessions in Vietnamese. Learn ways to approach writing assignments in different types of essays including descriptive, cause-effect, comparison, classification, and process essay, and how to go through the process of writing an effective essay. The textbook is used as a guide, other additional reading materials are available on Moodle.
本課程旨在藉由論文寫作的基礎知識來培養學生的學術寫作技巧,並著重於增強論文體裁知識以及符合讀者期望。 該課程以越南語進行報告與討論,並在描述性、因果關係、比較、分類等不同類型的論文寫作過程中幫助學生掌握論文寫作方法,以及如何有效地完成撰寫論文來完成作業。 教科書作為學習指南,其他附加閱讀材料可在 Moodle 上獲得。
能力項目說明
本課程著重於增強與複習越南語技巧的熟練度。課程目標為運用各種主題及文章提升越語能力,並透過每週閱讀和寫作作業以增加詞彙量。選修本課程,學生將建立以下基礎:
This course provides a review and expansion of the essential skills of Vietnamese language proficiency. The main target of this class is to improve the use of Vietnamese on various topics of writing genres, broaden vocabulary through weekly reading and writing assignments. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
發音 Pronunciation:
Obtain the perfect pronunciation with natural intonation in Vietnamese.
詞彙 Vocabulary:
Obtain extended vocabulary used in academic learning, culture and society, politics, and economics.
文法 Grammar:
Provide specialized vocabulary and to gain the deeper understanding of Vietnamese morphology and syntax.
掌握複合語句與片語的用法,如“ nói chung, …nói riêng... / xét về mặt... xét về mặt... / về phía... về phía... / một mặt... một mặt... / về mặt…, về mặt…” 等。
Gain the use of specialized words and intensive knowledge of morphology and syntax which are introduced in different texts of genres- for example, adverb of degree “hết sức”; phrase “sở dĩ như vậy là vì,..., điều đó dẫn đến..., đó là lý do mà..., hậu quả là..., dẫn đến..., nói một cách khác..., có thể nói ..., nói đến ...”…
聽力 Listening:
Be able to comprehend different genres in literature, culture, society, and economy within the limits of vocabulary and grammar.
口說 Speaking:
Be able to deal with difficult situations occurred in areas where spoken language is Vietnamese.
Converse with consistent contents and be able to exchange information, ideas, plans, knowledge, and experiences in different professional areas.
閱讀 Reading:
Be able to acquire reading proficiency sufficient to comprehend different genres with profound contents, and grasp the intent of the writer comprehensively.
Able to summarize the text, analyze structure and make inferences.
寫作 Writing:
Be able to write different types of academic essay: cause and effect essay, process essay, argumentative essay in Vietnamese.
Be able to acquire writing proficiency sufficient to different genres in professional fields.

學生需於課前將詞彙記熟,文法與閱讀複習,以便於課堂上進行討論與練習。課堂作業繳交將以寄送 Moodle方式交予講師。最終成績將依以下四個部分判定:
Students are responsible for memorizing vocabulary, reviewing grammar, and reading materials before class in order to reserve valuable in-class time for discussion. All assignments are submitted in Moodle prior to the deadlines. The final grades are determined by 4 parts as follows:
