This course provides foundational training in professional on-camera acting skills, equipping students with the ability to deliver effective, credible, and authentic performances. Initially, students will focus on core acting techniques, such as character embodiment, emotional continuity, and authentic interpretation, which are crucial for crafting realistic, multi-layered media texts (e.g., film, television, advertising, or other narrative content). Building on these skills, the course also delves into character creation, covering essential elements such as personality, motivation, and narrative coherence. Students will learn how these acting insights translate into effective scene work, including collaboration with directors and cast, scene blocking, and adapting to on-set conditions.
Designed to accommodate diverse career paths, this course not only offers practical tools for students aspiring to become professional actors or to work in camera-facing and audience-facing roles, but also supports those interested in directing, casting, or media production by integrating acting techniques into areas like scene coordination, character consistency, and storytelling.
