課程簡介Course Description

The course aims to provide the fundamental and useful concepts and methods of probability theory and mathematical statistics. Upon completion, students are expected to derive and apply the theoretical results and carry out some standard statistical procedures.

Topics include: estimation methods, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing procedures.

    Students who successfully complete this course should be able to demonstrate understanding of:

    - understand the basis of mathematical statistics and some of its more relevant theoretical features.

    - how to read and annotate an outline of a proof and be able to write a logical proof of a statement.

    - how to translate real-world problems into probability models.
