This course is designed for the Executive Master Program in Strategic and International Studies in the Department of Diplomacy, National Chengchi University to provide an introduction to methodology in international relations and related subjects. It will begin with a discription of the scientific research and its applications to the issues which need practical solution. The focus is on cases, both successful and failed, with a purpose to let our students understand theirr extended implications to our current environment. International relations, foreign policy, business, media and security will be covered in the process of teaching. Students are encouraged to make their presentations and class discussions follow. The exchange and sharing of working experiences is so useful and instrumental for the program. In short, this course is to recharge the intellectual batteries of the mid-career professionals who have spared their busy schedule to come to National Chengchi University to study.

Students will be able to gain a new insight of international relations and strategic studies in terms of methodology. This course and other subjects provided by the Program will offer an integrated scheme of knowledge for our students to meet their future needs in their professions. "Scientifically sound and socially relevant" is the common norm for the class to proceed in a systematic way. Theories, models and cases will be introduced and evaluated in the class so as to provide students with a new vision on management, desicion-making, leadership and crisis prevention in the age of AI and Metaverse.
