This course is designed to help Ph.D. students develop a solid background for conducting dissertation research in interlanguage analysis. After consulting the instructor, students are expected to develop a research plan. Through extensive reading and class discussion, students are expected to gain a thorough familiarity with previous studies related to their dissertation topics. In addition, they are expected to conduct a pilot study for their dissertation research.
