The course takes an analytical and theoretical approach to the study of interpersonal and group communication, it will provide a survey of human elements in communication as an individual in various social contexts.
More specifically, the course seeks to achieve the following objectives:
(1) To introduce the students to the terms, concepts, issues, and approaches prevalent in the study of interpersonal and group communication;
(2) To increase the student's awareness of the multidimensional nature of interpersonal and group communication;
(3) To foster the understanding, critique, analysis, and integration of the major theory and research in interpersonal and group settings.
(4) To encourage the application of interpersonal theories in daily life situations so as to evaluate the validity and plausibility of these theories.
