This is a one-semester course on the economics of money, banking and financial institutions. This course aims to provide the students with an introduction to the role of money, the determination of interest rates, financial institutions and monetary policy.

Students who satisfactorily complete this course will have a thorough understanding of the role of money and banks in the economy. Students will also learn how the interest rates and exchange rates are determined. Finally, students will become familiarized with the structure and functions of the central banks and monetary policies.
