This is the first course in the sequence of graduate microeconomic theory for students in the graduate program of Economics. The course is intended for students who are interested in learning basic tools, techniques, and applications of microeconomics. While an intuitive appreciation of the principles will be the primary objective, mathematical tools will be employed to illustrate the implementation of these principles to practical cases. Any advanced mathematics that is used will be developed in class.

Your class participation is required. There will be quizzes, a midterm, and a final exam. A quiz will be held after the completion of each chapter. The grade will be based on class participation (5%), quizzes (25%), a midterm exam (30%) and a final exam (40%).
