This is a core course for Ph.D. students in the subfield of Political thoughts and history in the Political Science Department. We will examine classic works in comparative politics and incorporate them in the research projects of students.

This class will divded into two parts: the former one will discusses contemprory key methods on political theoty studies, especially analytic political philosophy, critical theory, and phenomenology; the later one will focus on the dispute between historical contextualism and new realism.
