本課程主要講授地理資訊系統的理論基礎、分析與應用，另外輔以介紹地理資訊系統執行工具。除基本理論的講解之外，修課學生皆需要上機實作，以培養學生能獨立操作與應用相關軟體的能力。
能力項目說明
使學生了解地理資訊系統的基本概念、系統組成、系統功能、資料建構、資料分析與應用。並透過實際上機實習，使學生具備獨立操作與應用地理資訊系統軟體的能力。
