The course provides graduate students with an introduction to the principles and practices in strategic talent management. The course will cover evidence-based human resources management (HRM) knowledge and expertise that are essential for effective managers in contemporary organizations. Students are expected to develop awareness, understanding, and application of fundamental principles and practices of strategic talent management.

This course focuses on developing fundamental strategic talent management (STM) knowledge and skills of modern business managers. Through the core philosophy of competence-based STM, students in this course will have opportunities to acquire essential talent management and performance management frameworks and skills. As future leaders of organizations, students will learn how to systematically help their firms identify, select, and develop potential talents, and play the key role of atalent developer. As future team leaders, students will also learn how to effectively supervise their subordinates and become a competent performance driver.
