課程簡介Course Description

The course is designed to develop students’ skills in constructing the basic Indonesian language, both in written and spoken forms, and students’ understanding of cultural aspects of the Indonesian language. In this course, the students will have opportunities to build the skills to recognize, describe and identify basic Indonesian structures, use appropriate vocabulary in constructing simple sentences, apply Indonesian simple sentence structure correctly, and write simple sentences and short passages on familiar topics within the limit of basic vocabulary and grammar acquired in this course.

    課程目標與學習成效Course Objectives & Learning Outcomes

    This course aims to provide students with the necessary skills to improve their ability to construct the basic Indonesian language in written and spoken forms. In the class, students will learn everyday vocabulary and basic sentence patterns to help students write simple Indonesian sentences. By the end of the semester, students will be able to:

    • Recognize, describe, and identify basic Indonesian structures
    • Use appropriate vocabulary in constructing simple sentences
    • Apply Indonesian simple sentence structure correctly
    • Construct declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, and imperative sentences correctly
    • Read and identify Indonesian sentence structure in a written form correctly within the limits of grammar and vocabulary acquired in this course
    • Write simple sentences and short passages on familiar topics within the limit of basic vocabulary and grammar acquired in this course (up to 20 sentences)
    • Identify cultural aspects in the written Indonesian language within the limit of basic vocabulary and grammar acquired in this course

    評量工具與策略、評分標準成效Evaluation Criteria

    Students are responsible for memorizing vocabulary, reviewing grammar, and reading materials before class to reserve valuable in-class time. All assignments are submitted by the due date. Attendance is mandatory in this class. Not attending the class more than three times a semester will impact participation and attendance grades. The final grades are determined based upon:

    1. Attendance, class participation, homework: 20%
    2. In-class quizzes: 25%
    3. Mid-term exam (Written Exam): 25%
    4. Final exam (Written Exam): 30%
