課程簡介Course Description

Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) have become a significant issue in industries. Legal practitioners, business managers, government officers, and research scientists should all understand the IPR issue to make their institutions profitable and develop. However, the IPR issue is often challenging to understand because too many legal theories, business strategies, international politics, and economics should be concerned with this issue. Therefore, this Seminar on IPR Law and Management (I) course aims to help students understand the IPR issue from various perspectives, thereby affording multidisciplinary training to the students.

The course evaluation is based on the following criteria:

The students should discuss the case or policy from various legal, business, social, political perspectives. The deadline for the paper is the final week (i.e. 18th week) of the semester. The paper should have at most 15 pages (single space), including footnotes, tables, figures, and so on.
    3. Group Paper Presentation (20%): Before the finale group paper is due, the students are required to have group presentation in class to seek advices/suggestions from the instructor or peers.
    4. Participation and Attendance (10%): The instructor will offer extra credits for students who have active participation in class. The credits will account for at most 10 points for final score. The students must ask for leaves if they cannot attend the class. Absence without permission will affect the final score.
