In every meeting, students are required to submit a summarized report of the assigned readings, combining students’ proposed research questions and framework that could extends the papers. More specifically, the report should include:
(a) a summary of the research questions or problems the assigned research addresses and the findings;
(b) the strengths and limitations of the assigned research;
(c) the contribution it makes to the field, and a couple of major obvious and non-obvious links to the other pieces read that day or earlier in the seminar; and
(d) other interesting and researchable questions derived from it.
Students are expected to identify an important and interesting research question, conduct a literature review related to the research topic, and develop propositions or testable hypotheses accordingly. Students are also expected to plan the research method and start to collect data for empirical investigation.
