本課程之目的乃是使學生能夠結合統計於研究中，瞭解如何選取適當之統計方法解答研究問題，瞭解常用統計程序的基本概念，熟悉資料分析方法、程序及原則，運用SPSS統計軟體進行資料分析，並能解釋統計結果。

學生在完成本課程後，將具有以下知識 :
結合統計與研究，運用量化統計方法來解釋研究問題
熟悉資料分析的方法、程序及原則
熟悉常用統計方法的基本概念、原理與測量解釋

研究分析報告 (week 18繳交，不超過15頁) 50%
[研究群]多個有共同研究興趣的同學可以同一大組。
[研究問題] 2人一組。
研究分析報告的目的是讓同學練習「研究問題」、「量化資料蒐集」、「量化資料分析」、「統計結果回應研究問題」的過程。
「研究群」可以共同分擔及分享對共同興趣方向的研究文獻，「研究問題」各組再針對特定的細部議題各自鑽研。
「研究群」能統合各組量化測量，分擔量化資料蒐集的工作。
「研究問題」各組進行資料輸入、分析、解釋工作。
