課程簡介Course Description

The goal of the course is to enable students from the interdisciplinary background to understand and apply fundamental theories of economic development. The course will start from the principles and concepts of economic development, and then apply the knowledge to understand specific problems and policies at the domestic level and the international or macro level.

    • Students should know the magnitude of the differences in incomes between countries and peoples of the world, a variety of theoretical models and mechanisms and arguments that are relevant for development and poverty issues. 
    • Students should be able to read and understand project reports and journal articles that make use of the concepts and methods that are introduced in the course.
