This is a 3-hour course designed for graduate students in the Department of Economics. The aim of this course is to provide fundamental knowledge and quantitative tools necessary for addressing macroeconomic issues. Additionally, I will briefly introduce how to apply dynamic programming techniques to handle basic macro models. We will engage in quantitative work based on economic models and conduct a few calibration/simulation exercises. We will "intensively" use Matlab software and Dynare program to conduct quantitative analysis.
注意:本課程為總體經濟應用課程,建議對目前已有相關論文方向或對總體經濟理論的量化工具有興趣的同學再行選修。
能力項目說明
In each class, I will hold a lecture in the first two hours. The remaining time will be left for discussions of assigned papers or the review of term projects.
