課程簡介Course Description

There are over 190 countries in the world now and the amount of developing countries is largest.

 

However, because of comparative limited begiven capability in the world, the development capabilities and international influence of developing countries are highly influenced and restricted by big powers.

 

This course is aim to analyze the following topics from both macro and micro perspectives, including the structure of the international system and domestic political and economic development: (1) Political development and foreign policy orientation of developing countries; international organizations such as the G20 and the United Nations developing countries in Asia; (3) conduct country-specific discussions on major developing countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa.

    課程目標與學習成效Course Objectives & Learning Outcomes

    The main purpose of this course aims to cultivate and deepen students' understanding of the national development and foreign policies of developing countries, using macro and micro perspective. 

    This course requires students to give an oral report (15 minutes) in class first, and then submit a final report (6,000~12,000 words) at the end of the semester.

    The teacher will provide a list of suggested reading articles both in in the class Chinese and foreign languages (available in the second week) and ask students to select at least one paper every other week in advance in order to evaluate students' independent reading ability.
