本課程是針對大學部高年級生及碩士班學生所設計的課程，主要介紹性別、工作與照顧的領域，人們隨著時間的推移對生產(production)和再生產(reproduction)之間的關係及勞動力市場的納入(inclusion)和排除(exclusion)過程進行探索。本課程涉及福利政治的歷史和多元交織的面向、積極活化政策(activation policies)、移民和照顧工作等議題，探討性別和其他結構類別如何與生產和再生產實務相連結。什麼是工作？薪資工作規範如何支配平等和福利的理念？如何定義照顧(有酬與無酬的照顧)?政府為何要透過家庭政策或家庭工作平衡方案?什麼是全球照顧鏈？它們是如何出現的？不平等條件又為何在家庭、工作組織或市場和國家政策中得以維持和強化？如何因應這些不平等與挑戰？如何思辨工作與家庭平衡政策的歐洲政策和美國政策，以及亞洲(東亞)政策，以創造台灣未來融入勞動市場政策、人力資本政策和性別平等政策之「平衡工作與家庭政策」。
能力項目說明
1、理解並解釋生產和再生產、有酬和無酬工作如何相互關聯，以及與性別、年齡、階級、種族/民族和性取向的關係；從文化與社會政策觀點探討平衡工作與家庭政策: 包括「社會正義理論(social justice theory)」與「性別公平觀點(gender equity approach)」的工作與家庭政策;
2、了解全球經濟中不斷變化的工作組織，以及了解與家庭和照護工作相關的家庭工作移民，以及全球照護鏈的發展。獨立闡述並關聯有關性別、工作和移民的中心觀點、分界線、概念和主題。獨立且批判性地反思勞動市場內外的權力關係。
3、課程著重修課學生的主動學習，即將知識付諸實踐並批判性地反思知識。透過不同的教學策略，例如講座、小組討論以及針對選定主題的各種形式的個人和小組練習。學生應積極參加所有專題討論，並以口頭和書面形式對生產和再生產之間的關係進行獨立分析，完期專題PPT發表及期末專題報告(word檔)以通過課程。
