資訊檢索是查找資訊和資料庫系統內容，以回應使用者對特定主題的查詢過程，過去經常用的方法是透過關鍵字查找，然而並非專家的一般民眾，若不了解該領域的關鍵字，則不得其門而入，因此自然語言處理的導入可協助用一般語句即可檢索，相關技術還包括多媒體檢索，也就是包括影像與音訊的輸入，使用者是否能夠正確表達，系統是否正確認知，也都是檢索成功的要素，因此還包括人工智慧應用的語言辨識,語音辨識/翻譯,影像辨識。
目前有許多的資訊都來自於網際網路，因此了解網路媒體也是資訊交流重要的步驟: 新聞網站/理財網站/Instagram/Youtube。
本課程將介紹數位圖書館與網際網路的差異，介面與知識管理的關鍵，重要示範將是以網路爬蟲擷取資料後進行整理再透過資料探勘技術拓展到各領域知識圖譜或Q&A的建立，了解如何以分門別類的數位化知識建立後，以人工智慧大規模的實施包括瀏覽與檢索的知識管理,最後介紹是否能夠實現以chatGPT完成檢索任務。
能力項目說明
本課程的目標是介紹在數位時代，資訊將如何被建立/分類，以及相對應的瀏覽與檢索方式，包括如何理解使用者的需求，以及解譯不同的多媒體資訊，像是metadata與tag形式的標註，資訊如何被檢索/分類/呈現，能夠以Python或軟體工具自動化處理大數據時代的種種資料與背後的意義。
