本課程主要探討公共圖書館重要議題，包括影響公共圖書館歷史發展的因素，瞭解公共圖書館規劃過程，認識行銷公共圖書館服務和資料的重要性，討論各種類型的規劃、推廣、服務和志工計畫，以及對於公共圖書館館員工作的挑戰。
能力項目說明
一、增進學生對公共圖書館理論與實務之暸解。
二、促進學生對我國公共圖書館發展歷程、現況與問題之認識。
三、促使學生熟悉公共圖書館各種讀者群之需求。
四、探討公共圖書館未來發展。
