課程簡介Course Description

This course will focus on Taiwanese history from the 17th to the 20th centuries and examine the political, social and cultural factors in the larger context of Asia that had shaped Taiwan during this period. One of the major topics to be examined this semester is the history of “migration”.

    This course will allow students to critically examine Taiwanese history from the 17th to the 20th centuries and analyze the political, social and cultural factors in the larger context of Asia that had shaped Taiwan during this period. Depends on students’ research interest, this course will further select specific topics and allow students’ to develop their own research projects around these topics.

    評量工具與策略、評分標準成效Evaluation Criteria

    Students are required to finish assigned readings before class and participate in class discussion. Active class participation is required. The final grade will consist of the followings:

    Class participation: 25%; Mid-term review paper: 25%; Final research paper (including class presentation): 50%
