This course will help students improve their English-language reading, writing, and oral presentation skills in preparation for producing academic work in English and participating in English-language academic events. Students will analyze English-language scholarship, films, and primary-source materials pertaining to their own research interests. During the second half of the semester, students will work toward preparing a short English-language research paper and 15-minute conference-style oral presentation.
