The purpose of this course is to introduce a clear and comprehensive overview of linguistic research methods in applied linguistics. The course is aimed at those who are new to studies in the field of language learning or who may have done or written some research work without academic guidance. Specific focus is on how to help education researchers and classroom teachers understand and critique published studies in applied linguistics. After completing this course, students are expected to have become interested enough to delve further into the literature and maybe even to embark on research of their own.
