Since the second half of the Twenty Century, the concept of spatial planning has brought a huge impact to different fields, society, culture and economic style, and in particular environmental issues; meanwhile it also re-defines the traditional identity of “planning” in land use. Furthermore, that reinvent the central position which state level used to play in policies in relation to cross-cutting and cross-boundaries affairs.
In spite of its European origin, over the last decades the concept of spatial planning has been adopted popularly in the East Asia countries including not only those pre-running developed players such as Japan, Korea and Taiwan but also the following developing economies, like China and Indonesia.
