這一堂課要介紹規劃理論的源起、理論典範的發展過程與遞移、目前所面對的狀況、及其未來可能的發展方向。所介紹的論文大抵是此領域的重要之作，希望經由書籍及論文的閱讀、及課堂上的討論，可以讓大家一起來反思台灣土地使用計畫（含都市計畫與區域計畫）的現況與問題，並共同探詢未來的可能發展。這一堂課將要求同學在上課之前先作預習，上課時作簡短讀書報告，並繳交一篇學期報告。
