With the challenges that the international society has encountered in the 21 century, international law has been developed progressively and rapidly via various modes. Different types of regulations and mechanisms have been adopted to respond to the challenges that the human beings faced together. Examples can be given as the climate change, marine pollution, sea level rise, pandemic, US-China trade conflicts and even international crimes or transnational crimes. This course is planned based on this development. Via the interdisciplinary approach, first examined is the development of international law in this new era from a broader view. Further investigated are specific issues, including the challenges they brought and the responses of the international society.

Via the scope covered by this course, expected is to train the younger generations with the legal professions and abilities to face the global challenges in the new era.
