課程簡介Course Description

This course is conducted entirely in English and focuses on the analysis and introduction of virtual reality and the metaverse. It explores the various dimensions and perspectives of virtual reality applications, as well as the associated business opportunities. The topics covered will include innovative academic applications of virtual reality, industry applications, marketing and branding applications, as well as aspects such as NFT and virtual amusement parks.

    What is metaverse?

    Let’s have an overview of different perspectives on metaverse.

    We will be discussing metaverse from VR, AR, Web 3, and the virtual amusement park.

    We will learn the three unique affordances of VR by Slater (2007) and how these three affordances can be employed for designing effective VR content for business opportunity. We will also cover innovative research of Proteus effect in academic literature to understand how virtual body illusion can alter our self-concept for social good.
