The objective of this course is to provide students with a broad understanding of empirical methodology for an academic paper or research proposals.

It equips students with the basic knowledge of empirical tools (more focusing on practical usage of econometrics), designing the empirical models, and estimation of models. See the course schedule for a list of topics that we will discuss.
Since this class is to learn a research proposal, students are required to bring their own laptop in the class.

We will mainly use the lecture note made by the instructor. It includes the various contents from various sources in terms of empirical design and statistical tools. The main reference textbook is Introductory econometrics: A modern approach, written by Jeffrey M. Wooldridge, 5th Edition, for econometrics.
