The class will examine how the traditional media transformed to new media internationally. The technologies, business models, and policies related to the transformations will be discussed. The students are required to familiarize with digital platforms, contents, distributions and usage behaviors in a digital world.
The class will cover recent developments of digital technologies, such as 5G, IoT, AI, etc. The business models of the global brands, including New York Time (news), Disney (entertainment), Spotify (music), Netflix (production), etc. will be studied. And the regulatory agencies, environments around the world will also be discussed.

Having followed the readings of the class, students will be equipped the knowledge of major challenges of content industries happened around the world. News, entertainment industries and regulatory concerns will be covered well in the class.
