課程簡介Course Description

This course is designed to familiarize students with the process involved in writing a thesis proposal which will lead to the successful writing of the thesis at the completion of this master’s program.  

Please note that there will only be two class meetings. The schedule below can be regarded as a possible schedule for you to get your proposal ready in the limited time that you have this summer.

    Students will be able to identify good proposals that they could use as samples.

    Students will be able to develop their M.A. thesis proposal.

    Students will be able to report their proposed study in front of professors/examiners.

    Part A: Getting started and understanding the key components of a proposal

    Part B: Working on your proposal (It is important to consult your advisor throughout the whole process of the thesis.)

    Part C: Presenting your proposal.

    評量工具與策略、評分標準成效Evaluation Criteria

    Requirements

    1. Attend the beginning and final sections given by the instructor.
    2. Consult with your advisor regularly.
    3. Give a 20- minute presentation on the proposal.
    4. Submit a written thesis proposal one week after the presentation.

    Scoring Scheme

    1. 80% of the score will come from the results of the proposal review. (40 % each by the individual thesis advisor and the other reviewer)
    2. 20% of the score will be given by the two reviewers (i.e., the instructor and another faculty member) on the performance of the presentation.
