This course is designed for college students to improve their overall English ability in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students will read in class and discuss related issues of the text in small groups. They will also form groups at the beginning of the semester, and each group will give a presentation on a topic they pick from the handouts. Students will need to practice speaking in class and submit take-home written assignment several times during the semester.

They learn to cooperate with each other in a group and intigrate opinions into clear argument.
They learn to use resources they can find in the library and on line to explore an issue in depth.
